Memorial Crosses for the Many Victims of the Wall
It is not possible to give an exact number, but approximately 300 people lost their lives trying to flee from the GDR and East Berlin by crossing the Wall. The last victim was Chris Gueffroy  in 1989, a few days before the Wall fell. 1990
